Shop Made in DC
In my studio class, I re-branded the visual identity for Shop Made in DC, a space dedicated to showcasing the talents of various DC-based designers, artists, and makers.
Concept
The logo is made up of two circles that represent the interconnectedness of DC and the maker community. These two circles come together to form an abstract eight which symbolizes all 8 wards of DC. The bottom grey circle overlaps with the solid upper green circle. This is indicative of a link which illustrates community, togetherness, and support.
Shop Made in DC’s logo enhances the modern vibe of the store while also showcasing the many vibrant products that are sold within the store. By placing the text at the base of the logo, there is focus on the word SHOP followed by the phrase Made in DC. This reinforces the idea that Shop Made in DC, offers a wide range locally sourced goods. The light green color palette further emphasizes the fresh, modern, and eclectic vibe that Shop Made in DC portrays.
